Asked to upgrade and reconfigure the layout, this scheme was completely gutted, reconfigured and landscaped with all its regulations brought right into the 21st century. Modern communications, security, and thermal values were all improved to make this more than just a bungalow.

We added sustainability in the form of an internal thermal jacket, underfloor heating, wet-room, solar panels and vaulted ceiling.

The landscaping was particularly complex with the site risen on a corner plot where the street is curved and on a hill. We installed modern gabion baskets faced with Derbyshire slate as retaining wall solution.

Nothing was left of the old tired bungalow. We removed the back of the house, extended it and added a mono lean to glass roof with matching bi-fold doors to bring the newly landscaped garden indoors.

The emphasis was on entertainment with open social spaces, sound, lighting and audio all seamlessly integrated with the flick of a switch making this a truly modern and future-proof bungalow with plenty more life in the old dog yet!
